Bio
I was born in Los Angeles. I started my fine art studies at the Rhode Island School of Design and finished my BA in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Arts, UAL, in 2024. I am also undertaking a Masters in Fine Art at Leeds arts University in 2026-2027.
Artist Statement
My paintings center on female figures alongside archetypal and natural forms. I am particularly interested in the symbolic relationship between the female body, natural imagery, and processes of transformation.
I view painting as an act of transcendence, and representation as a means of charging physical forms with symbolic meaning. Rather than using symbols as fixed allegories, I think that meaning emerges through the primordial act of painting. I am interested in the way that painting blurs the boundary between the material and the spiritual.
I work in oil, building and revising the surface over time. I leave traces of revision visible, allowing the paintings to retain a sense of mortality.
